No, it is not mandatory in Switzerland, but highly recommended.
2. What sums insured are available?
You can choose between CHF 5 million, CHF 10 million, CHF 15 million or CHF 20 million.
3. Who is liable for children?
Children are co-insured under their parents’ private liability insurance, regardless of whether they are with you or under the supervision of friends/grandparents. At a daycare, the institution is generally liable.
4. Does the protection also apply to self-employed individuals?
Yes, for certain professions up to CHF 40,000 annual sales. Restrictions apply to other self-employed activities. We would be happy to clarify details in a consultation.
